Nawab Lounge – AMAZING

As I may have mentioned in numerous articles, it was my birthday last week and I can confirm it was one of the best birthdays I can remember, it was absolutely perfect. However I did have some concerns about the Nawab Lounge, I had been there before and the service was second to none, however that was just 2 of us being served. I was flattered that 30 people had decided to come to my birthday party at Nawab Lounge.

The Nawab Lounge had moved and it was now in a building at least 4 times its previous size, I was concerned they would struggle serving 30 people and I was unsure if they had yet settled into their new ‘home’. However I needn’t be concerned.

On arrival I could see they had made a long table of 30, split into 3 tables of 10, so people could get in and out easily, as the night went on they had 2 waitors per table, this included taking drink orders, food orders, serving food and topping up drinks or dealing with queries, they were so helpful and so professional. There is sometimes a language barrier in Indian Restaurants, but there was no language barrier at all and the waiters were having a laugh and joke with all of us.

I do not like spicy curries, but I love curry sauce, the Indian rice and naan breads, so when we went to the Nawab Lounge for the first time I was pretty set on Chicken Korma (my normal), however this restaurant had a menu with pages and pages of Chef Specialties and Nawab Specialties that I was spoilt for choice, the page at the back of the menu stated “Traditional Curries” where Korma, Tikka, madras were listed without descriptions – it made me feel bad not to try a curry they had invented.

I had a Chicken Fosli and it was incredible, Chicken in a creamy banana and mango sauce – it was to die for!

I do like a naan bread or two too, so half way through my meal I asked for more sauce, they bought some freshly made sauce out within the promised 4-5minutes and it was delicious… sadly I had ‘mmmmmmmmm’ed so loud that I had to share the naan breads and sauce with my friends, but they all agreed that it tasted incredible.

The waiters then bought out my birthday cake, everyone sang Happy Birthday and we cut the cake, then everyone was offered Baileys or Whisky on the house and as the Birthday Girl I was given a free bottle of wine.

The staff at the Nawab Lounge really made my birthday for me, I will definitely be visiting this restaurant soon – maybe I will see you there too?
